A fireplace pomodoro timer

A cozy pomodoro timer with an animated fireplace scene: real fire, embers, flickering light and crackling fire sounds mixed with wind. Free, no account, works offline.

Open timerz with the Fireplace scene

The fireplace scene puts the timer in a cabin living room at night. The fire in the stone hearth is animated with a shader, embers rise and fade, the light on the walls flickers like a real flame, and a cat sleeps on the rug. The fireplace sound is a low rumble with random crackles, and you can add wind outside.

Setting the mood

  1. Open timerz with the fireplace scene using the button below.
  2. Turn the sounds on with A. Fireplace loads at medium volume with a touch of wind.
  3. Optional: add the lofi or jazz station from the music panel (M) at low volume.
  4. Press Space to start. Use countdown mode (2) if you want a single block instead of pomodoro cycles.

What is animated

The flames are procedural: noise that rises through a flame shaped mask, with a color ramp from white yellow to deep red. They never repeat. Ninety embers drift up from the logs with their own sway and lifetime. A full screen glow anchored to the fire flickers at two slow frequencies, which is what makes the room feel lit by it.

Questions

Is the fire sound a recording?

No. It is synthesized: brown noise through a low pass filter for the rumble, plus white noise gated at random for the crackles. It plays offline and never loops audibly.

Can I turn the cat off?

Not yet. It sleeps on the rug and breathes slowly. If enough people ask, it becomes a setting.

Is timerz free?

Yes. Every scene, sound and feature is free, with no account and no ads. If it helps you, you can leave a tip on Ko-fi, or become a supporter once (pay what you want, from 5 dollars, on Gumroad) to unlock your own photo as a scene and two extra fonts. There is no subscription.

Does timerz work offline?

Yes. timerz is a progressive web app. After the first visit the app, its scenes and sounds are cached, and you can install it on your desktop or phone. Only the YouTube music needs internet.

Where is my data stored?

In your browser, using localStorage. Settings, tasks and session history never leave your device. There is no server and nothing to sign up for. You can export your history as JSON or erase everything from settings.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. The timer stores when it started and derives the remaining time from the clock, so a background tab, a sleeping laptop or a page reload do not make it drift. The remaining time also shows in the tab title.
